Premiere: Denis Horvat's "Moderna" Brings The Eerie, Underground Techno Funk

Six minutes of underground rumbling and brass-led beats.

Techno star-in-the-making Denis Horvat has returned to Alex Niggeman's AEON imprint with the promise of a new EP on the horizon. The Exit EP, due Apr. 8, promises three original productions, backed up by a remix of "Transparent" by Italian technoists Marvin & Guy. Each one is rock solid and Horvat's love of underground rave sounds shines through at every opportunity, but it was "Moderna" that pricked our ears with its underground funk and eerie, metallic horns. As with all good techno, the build is gradual and the reward measured, the horns getting bolder as they punch their way into the foreground. Rounding off the track with a euphoric climax, "Moderna" has set the tone for a defining release from the Danish producer.
