There's something immediately Fela Kuti-esque about Deltino Guerreiro's sound that will instantly resonate with any music lover. "Duas Caras" is a track rich in worldwide influence from Deltino's experiences travelling from his native Mozambique—with the soul and R&B elements of the North—through to the markedly Arabic and mandinga melodies of Central Africa. Delicately poised to begin with, over an Arabian bass guitar, South American brass and tribal bongos, the track soon elevates in tempo with the inclusion of a pulsing cowbell and pounding drum beat. The arrangement of the track is its best strength though: the progression in rhythm and vocal patterns ascending throughout creates a memorable cut full of soothing and sumptuous groove.
