Kehlaniearned a Grammy nomination for her 2015 mixtape, You Should Be Here, and now we're impatiently waiting for the Bay Area singer to drop her official debut album. Complex News caught up with her at the 2016 MTV Woodie Awards at SXSW in Austin, Texas, and she promised that it's her number one priority.

"[The album] is on its way and I'm working hard on it to make sure that it's perfect," she said, also confirming that she and Future will be finding time to collaborate. "There's definitely music coming, I hope to work on things and grow with him," she said. "Homies first and just build natural business relationships."

And even before her project drops, we'll likely hear her new collaboration with Wale, which she was excited to talk about. "That's my brother. I have a song on his album, it's super fun and I'm really excited that we got to do it together, of all people, because he's really someone I look at like a brother and deeply care for," she explained.

Right around this point, Wale actually crashed our interview, and it's obvious that they gave a great connection. Check it out in the video above.
