This bodes very well for Commodo's debut album 'How What Time'.

London producer Commodo has a new album, How What Time, dropping on Apr. 22 via Black Acre. According to him, the set will "strike a balance between a sample-heavy, rap-style sound palette and the energy of the 140bpm-based music I've always been a part of." On lead track "Set It Straight", Rocks FOE spits forcefully over a chaotic, thunderous beat. Meanwhile, the visuals—directed by Wilou Wild and Loup Blaster—mix together grainy footage of Rocks in various spots round London with flashes of distorted animation. Though there are hints of grime, in the gnarled bass and stop-start beat for example, "Set It Straight" sits closer to hip-hop with an overall production reminiscent of Madlib or Dälek. That said, it's still a wildly experimental tune that doesn't neatly sit in any category. Watch the video above.
