There was an interesting musical tidbit in the background of some of Chance the Rapper's snapchats recently concerning Kanye West's new album The Life of Pablo. "Waves," a song Chance fought so hard to include on the project that it delayed the entire album release, was originally released with a writing credit from the Chicago rapper and vocals from Chris Brown and Kid Cudi.

However, Complex reader Max Coatney pointed out that in the background of two of Chance's snapchats was a different version of "Waves," one that sounds like it has new vocals from Chance added to it.

There are two possible explanations for this. One is that he could simply be teasing an alternate version of "Waves" that West decided against using. However, with the recent news that the current version of T.L.O.P. on Tidal isn't final, it is also possible that this new version of the song could be forthcoming on the finalized release.

The completed album, which we already know will include a "fixed" version of "Wolves," is set to drop sometime in the next few days on Tidal. It remains to be seen whether or not the new take on "Waves" will make the final cut, but either way, it's interesting to hear an alternate version of a song that Chance battled to keep on the project.
