Rap Twitter has been buzzing about Brooklyn rapper Desiigner and how he sounds similar to Future. As we all know, information on the Internet travels fast, which could be the reason why Future decided to make a statement about copycat rappers in general.

Future’s currently on the Purple Reign tour with special guest Ty Dolla $ign and he made a stop in New York City at the Hammerstein Ballroom last night. DJ Akademiks posted a video from the show that has Future Hendrix saying the following before performing "I'm the Plug": “I’ma let y’all niggas know, there’s only one Future in this motherfucker and I’m really the plug.”

Future didn’t exactly call out Desiigner, but it makes sense considering he’s in his hometown. Maybe this is his way of marking his territory.

When we spoke to the G.O.O.D. Music signee, he gave us this response about comparisons to Future.

“God gave him a blessing, but he gave me a blessing too. I ain't gonna doubt the man's music. He make beautiful music too. Music is made every day. Big ups to him, big ups to Future. I actually like Future’s music. I like his music, you feel me. I’m not a hater or a critic on him, you know, I do me. God bless him, God bless me.”
