Get ready for a fall version of Coachella. According to local paper The Desert Sun, Indio city officials say "significant progress has been made to bring a new Goldenvoice event to the Empire Polo Club," and it would likely take place in the fall. The Indio Mayor, Glenn Miller, adds that the arrival of another festival could be imminent. Goldenvoice President, Paul Tollett, has also said he would be open to presenting more festivals. As it stands, the city of Indio has an agreement with Goldenvoice to keep the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and Stagecoach: California's Country Music Festival in the city through 2030.
However, Tollett mentioned that it wouldn't happen right away. "Just an idea we talked about," Tollett said Monday by email. "But we've talked about it before. Hopefully some day. We love the Coachella Valley." He added that a major reason for an additional festival would be the increased economy it brings to the area. “It brings a different group into the community that wouldn’t be here in the summer heat, so it brings in money, business and jobs to the city," he said. Goldenvoice is launching the new Panorama festival in New York City this July, much to the dismay of the festival presenters of Governors Ball, which will take place in NYC in June.
