David Bowie's Blackstar is on track to earn him his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, according to Billboard. Released on his 69th birthday (Jan. 8) and only a few days before his death, Bowie's final release has since hit the No. 1 spot on both iTunes and Amazon. It's estimated the album will sell about 130,000 units in the week ending Jan. 14, which would dethrone Adele's 25 from the top spot, according to industry forecasters. These numbers would secure a debut in the No. 1 spot on Billboard 200 and result in a long-overdue No. 1 album. Throughout his career, seven of Bowie's albums charted in the top 10 on the Billboard 200.
