Willow Smith is the latest artist to go the surprise release route, as she unexpectedly put out her debut album, ARDIPITHECUS, on iTunes this morning. The album was released through Jay Z's Roc Nation label, which Smith signed to back in 2010. The album includes 15 songs in total, with Willow penning 14 of them herself and producing 10 of the tracks on the album.

"Ardipithecus Ramidus is the scientific name of the first hominid bones found on earth," Willow told Fader. "I wanted to name my musical compilation after it because, while I was making these songs I was in such a transitional state." The album can be streamed in full on Spotify below, and purchased on iTunes here.
