At this year's Billboard Women in Music Awards, Ciara presented longtime collaborator Missy Elliott with the Innovator of the Year award. "There's truly no one like her," Ciara said.
"I stand here for all the women who been told you don't fit the mold," Missy said in a reportedly emotional speech, where she also gave shout outs to Timbaland, Pharrell Williams and Aaliyah. Other honorees at the ceremony included Woman of the Year Lady Gaga, as well as Lana Del Rey, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Fifth Harmony, and Alabama Shakes' Brittany Howard.
