Talib Kweli has been outspoken about racism in the past, and over the weekend he experienced it first hand. Kweli was in Copenhagen to play a show when he took the time to visit the district of Christiania, or what he calls one of his "favorite places in the world." The popular Danish destination is a self-described autonomous residential neighborhood known for its artistic community and relaxed drug laws. Kweli was visiting the famous commune when he was "attacked by two bigots." He goes on to describe the attack on Instagram, writing, "They didn't even know who I was, they just didn't like the color of my skin. It wasn't an Internet attack, it was physical."

Absolutely terrible. We're glad to hear Kweli was OK. He went on to thank the Copenhagen fans for their love following his show. You can read the full message he left for fans on Instagram below.
