UK indie rock band The Kooks are releasing a brand new remix album, featuring re-works of the entirety of their 2014 effort Listen. A cavalcade of artists including Jack Beats, Kove, and Atlas Genius have taken the reigns to re-assemble The Kooks' most recent work, and the ensuing album, titled Hello, What’s Your Name?, will be released in its entirety on December 4th.
The story goes that the band were so impressed by the ways that DJs were mixing their tracks with 4/4 beats, that they knew they had to pursue the idea of a club focused remix album. One track, a remix of a newer song called “Creatures of Habit”, has already seen a release, having been remixed by UK bass stalwarts Jack Beats.
For this Complex AU premiere, Parisian electro act Montmartre has blessed us with a remix to “Sweet Emotion”, originally a fairly minimal, twangy guitar track, now rehauled with a much more grandiose, electronic disco vibe. Check out the song above, and the full track list below.
