As Royce Wood Junior prepares to release his Honeydripper EP (Nov. 6), we thought we'd bring this Alfa Mist remix to your attention. Royce Wood Junior, if you didn't already know, is a gifted songwriter whose behind-the-scenes credits are already stacked enough to make you wonder what you've been doing with your life. So far, he's worked with Jamie Woon, Kwabs, Denai Moore, Nao and more. And today, he sharesAlfa Mist's '90s R&B-meets-jazz reworking of lead track "Honeydripper". A funk-filled take on R&B, each element of the track—from the bass, right up to the vocals—are filtered and adjusted to give the listener the effect of hearing the track on the way out of a deep, deep sleep as if the morning fog hasn't quite lifted.
