For those fortunate enough to have been blessed with a Bill Murray encounter, the world politely requests that they continue to tell their Bill stories for the rest of their blessed existences. Mac Miller did exactly that when asked by Genius about the Lost in Translation reference in "Jump," diving right into a very Bill story about golf and ridiculously expensive wine.

"I met him one time," Mac revealed about his GO:OD AM inspiration. "It was at a golf tournament. I got to play the Bill Murray invitational, a charity event. I was like 'Alright I gotta do something that will leave an impression on Bill Murray so he'll remember me.' So I went and copped this, like, six-thousand-dollar bottle of wine. I see Bill Murray walking and I was like 'Hey man, I just wanted to give you this' and just walked away."

As for Bill's thoughts on Mac's attempt to beat him at his own game (the game is called whimsy), Mac says he overheard the forthcoming Netflix holiday special star let out a genuine "Holy shit!" after giving the bottle a thorough look. Somewhere on the planet, Bill Murray could be sipping fine wine gifted to him by Mac Miller because, quite frankly, real recognize real.
