Can Hakeem do it again?

That's the question on both viewers' minds and, of course, the characters in the show itself. The crown jewel of Empire's debut season that helped the show become a phenomenon was Hakeem's undeniably catchy banger, "Drip Drop." The song went on to become a crossover hit—as in crossing over from fiction and breaking the fourth wall IRL. Now all eyes, and ears, are tuned into Empire season 2 to see if the series can produce another ridiculous yet compelling song.

Last week, Lucious Lyon took off the blazer, loosened up the tie and got back to songwriting, and in jail no less. The only thing more amazing than "Snitch Bitch" is the condition with which it was created under. And a new Lucious hit is the absolute last thing Cookie and Hakeem need as they try to launch their own record label.

That's why Hakeem is striking back in this week's episode, with a new song from the album he just freed from Lucious and Jamal's clutches at Empire Entertainment. He's not holding back either, with lines like "Had my eyes on the throne since I came in this earth."

We won't spoil the circumstances surrounding his debut of the track—although it's wonderfully dramatic and confrontational in pure Empire fashion—you'll have to watch on Wednesday for that. But for now take a listen to the Timbaland-assisted-and-produced "Dynasty" below and buy the song here.
