You've got to love an artist capable of throwing curveballs. Originally described as "one of the UK's most exciting garage producers," Joe "GhostChant" Cornwell is back with "Habituary", a track that could only sit further from UKG if it were a nine-minute death metal song. Recruiting the ever-brilliant SpaceGhostPurrp, GhostChant crafts a hazy, psychedelic, futuristic rap joint that owes more to Bonobo than it does MJ Cole. Atop the sweeping, cinematic beats SpaceGhostPurrp throws out lines like "smoking reefer, having sex, she loves getting fucked up" that, despite the content, carry an air of melancholy, even regret.
