This morning, Demi Lovato was announced as the second cover star for Complex's Oct/Nov 2015 issue, and while you can check out the full cover story here, Lovato's thoughts on her friendship with Iggy Azalea really stood out from the conversation. Lovato not only defended her good friend Iggy, but she also documented how they really became close over time, and how it all started with Jennifer Lopez's Halloween party. "She’s so awesome. She’s very, very, very real. What you see is what you get. I think sometimes that pushes people away, but that’s what I admire about her. She’s the furthest thing from fake," Lovato said.

Of course, authenticity has been the major question when it comes to Iggy and her career, but Demi isn't hearing it. "Iggy has really gone through shit and didn’t let that take her down a devastating path. There’s respect there," Lovato said. "The fact that she’s gone through so much and I’ve gone through so much and on a Friday night we can make gingerbread houses together instead of going out and drinking our sorrows away—that’s fucking cool." Demi and Iggy have actually become so close that she is going to be a bridesmaid in Iggy's wedding with Nick Young.
