Some pretty rad stuff's about to happen here at Complex UK HQ: we're launching the official Complex UK Soundcloud this Friday (August 28)—where we'll be posting all our premieres—and to mark the occasion, Joseph 'JP' Patterson (our beloved music editor) collected some beats and some spitters for a FIRE new mixtape called #GRIMETIMEWARP Vol. 1.
We colluded with 10 rising grime MCs and 10 OG producers to bring them together for the first time. Each MC was asked to spit their gulliest bars over classic riddims from the likes of Terror Danjah, Dot Rotten, and even grime originator Wiley. All this week we'll be teasing information, artwork, and one or two of the tracks so make sure you keep it locked on Complex UK for the duration.
UPDATE: You can now get your first listen of the mixtape via Pigeons & Planes; today, they premiered Jammz' jaw-smashing "Complex Freestyle"spat over Dot Rotten's "Bazooka" instrumental from 2005.
