Premiere: Watch Jarryd James's "Give Me Something" Video

Produced by Joel Little.

Brisbane-born artist Jarryd James premiered his single "Give Me Something" in May—it's the follow-up to his debut single, "Do You Remember." Over production from Lorde producer Joel Little, James croons about wanting the attention and love from someone who might not want you as much as you want them. Today, we're premiering the Jake Jelicich-directed video—who also worked on "Do You Remember," and James said they want it to be a continuation of the previous video—"as if they were two different scenes of the same movie." "Jake found a really amazing location—this house out in Desert Hot Springs in California—we just wanted to make something that visually complemented the music without taking any attention away from it," James told Complex over email.

He says "Give Me Something" is about that no matter what or who you are, things are inescapable when it comes to love. "It's about wanting someone more than they want you. It's about the futility of trying to analyze it all. James has been selective with which producers he's working with but says he's trying to let things just flow. "The main thing I do think about while writing & recording is how it is going to translate when I recreate it in a live setting," he says. His sounds are refreshing, which is probably a result of him honing in on his own music rather than listening to others, and you can check out more on his Soundcloud now.
