In a recent video interview with Mikey Fresh,Capone-N-Noreaga gave an amused account of an old, unfortunate run-in with former VIBE editor Sacha Jenkins, in which the legendary Queens rap duo pranked Jenkins with fake cocaine and a real, loaded gun.

"We were just getting started [in the rap game]," N.O.R.E. begins, setting the Queensbridge scenery. "We were emulating N.W.A. We wanted Sacha Jenkins to have this experience."

In 1997, Jenkins went to interview C.N.N. at Capone's mother's apartment. "Capone used to have a baseball bag full of guns," N.O.R.E. explains. "I'm in the living room, acting like I'm bagging up or something....Capone pulls out the [gun], and all I heard was, POW!"

"That wasn't a part of our plan," he says.

N.O.R.E. goes on to explain that both he and Capone were quietly shook by how explosive their prank became, with N.O.R.E. having to suppress his shock and urge to cower so as not to wreck the facade.

"The funniest thing about the situation," according to Capone, "is that Sacha was genuinely shook."

"It's been way over seven years," N.O.R.E. says, "so we can't get in trouble—right?"
