The stifling, consistent silence from many top tier artists following hate-driven acts of domestic terrorism such as the Charleston Church Massacre is always discouraging — frequently inspiring similar passivity among future artists and fans alike. Thankfully, the world still has Lupe Fiasco. Never one to sacrifice the message for the mainstream, Lupe recently took to Instagram to speak passionately and vividly about the inherent falsities upon which the doctrines of white supremacy are built.

Lupe divided his "Dear White Supremacy" letter into three parts, each one paired with an image of the Charleston shooter (and proud white supremacist) Dylann Roof. Speaking to white supremacy at large, Lupe opens the letter by immediately undermining the very sentiment of supremacy. "There is nothing about you biologically or physically that denotes an innate mode of supremacy," writes Lupe. "For that matter, there is nothing about you psychologically, philosophically, cognitively, academically, socially, architecturally, culturally, or even financially that signifies a higher position above any other group."
