Yesterday (June 25) marked the sixth anniversary of Michael Jackson's death at the age of 50. While his family and friends continued to mourn the pop icon's passing, TMZ dropped a heavy bit of news about his estate with a report claiming that his children are—unsurprisingly—better off financially than ever before.

According to the site, the Michael Jackson estate has grossed almost $2 billion since his death and held on to about $800 million of that amount after accounting for expenses. The steady income came thanks to the release of the 2009 documentary This Is It about his planned final tour, a Circue de Soleil production featuring his music called Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour, sales from 50 million albums sold, and more.

Ultimately the $800 million gets almost cut in half after taxes, but considering that Jackson's finances were precarious around the time of his death, the news of the estate's growth is still big.
