In his verse on "M$" Lil Wayne let us know his beef with Cash Money hasn't ended, as he rapped, "I love my BMs, love my YM, ain't no more CM." And in a move that likely reflects the ongoing feud, Weezy has signed with Kobalt Neighbouring Rights to collect his global royalties, AllHipHop reports. Kobalt's other clients include Kid Cudi, Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars, Sam Smith, Calvin Harris, and Busta Rhymes.
Here's a description of Kobalt's services from its website:
Kobalt’s powerful tracking system compares collection against detailed in-house expectations to ensure all income is correctly accounted. Kobalt develops these detailed expectations from 3rd party performance data, Territory expectations from Kobalt’s pre-distribution health check, as well as from the client’s income data. Combining these three data sources allows us to monitor collection and ensures all income is received.
In April Lil Wayne moved his $51 million lawsuit against Cash Money to a New Orleans court. He had previously been reported as saying he'd be willing to stay with the label if he were paid $10 million for his work on Carter V, which still has no release date in sight.
