Sony Says They Have "No Plans" to Pull Beyoncé's Music From Tidal

In response to earlier rumors, Sony Music CEO Doug Morris released a statement saying Sony is "rooting for" Tidal.

The hater-fueled speculation gathering like kudzu around Tidal reached a fever pitch earlier this week when the powers that be seemed to confirm that Beyoncé's catalog might soon be removed from the lossless audio streaming service. Citing reports that Sony was demanding a sizeable amount of money from Tidal, an amount supposedly left unpaid, Bloomberg suggested the catalogs of Beyoncé and other Sony artists were potentially in jeopardy.

However, that apparently couldn't be further from the truth. In a statement released early Saturday, Sony Music CEO Doug Morris denied any plans of removing the music of Sony-controlled artists from the moderately controversial streaming service.

From Rolling Stone:

"Jay Z is a friend and business associate for many years. I have always admired his business acumen, his entrepreneurship and his passion for music. All of our content, including Beyoncé, is available through the Tidal service, and we have announced no plans to remove our catalog from Tidal. Like all of our other partners, we are rooting for Jay and Tidal to succeed."

Once again, it would appear that rumors of Tidal's premature demise are either greatly exaggerated or just swiftly addressed.
