Earlier today, Miley Cyrus launched her new "Happy Hippie" foundation with the help of a few pop stars and an unique music video series. The series, which took place in Miley's backyard, included collaborations with Joan Jett, Laura Jane Grace, and Ariana Grande. The ultimate goal of Miley's new foundation is to raise funds and awareness for the homeless, the LGBT community, and other people of need. In 2014, Miley tried to help raise awareness for homelessness when she sent a homeless man to accept her award on stage at the VMAs.

"Pointless judgment and its effects are unfortunately something that is way to common. All humans have valid feelings and rights! I want to use my voice as a megaphone to young people everywhere and encourage human evolution," Miley said via a statement. A full rundown on Miley's new foundation can be found on the foundation's website here, while the footage of her backyard performances can be seen on Miley's Facebook page here.

Miley also took to Medium to describe in detail her hopes and goals for her new foundation, which you can read in full here. The piece documents Miley's thought process behind starting the foundation and the people that she wants to help along the way. "Being who you are and who you want to be has nothing to do with gender, sexuality, body type, race, or age," Miley wrote.
