Hip-house doesn't have to be cheesy and unfashionable. Sometimes, it's actually good.

Hip-house, that fun-loving sweet spot between house and rap championed by the Jungle Brother's on "I Will House You" became unfashionable almost as soon as it started. It's a shame really since there's a lot to explore in that realm, but fortunately Berghain resident and Fabric favorite Jesse Rose kept the faith. The story goes that as soon as Childish Gambino heard the remix he said, "This is what it would sound like if the Neptunes made house!" Where a lot of hip-house failed to ride both sounds successfully, often falling on one side or another, Rose's remix of "Telegraph Avenue" strikes the balance deftly.
