Kanye West and Damon Dash—the two potential Karmaloop owners—recently collaborated on a film that is now facing some legal trouble.
The film, entitled Loisaidas, was named after the Spanish nickname for the Lower East Side. Unbeknownst to the pair, their movie shares its title with a Hispanic musical duo, who are not happy with this overlap. Michael Medina, Loisaidas' lead singer, believes that the movie promotes violence, murder, and drug sales, which tarnishes their brand.
According to TMZ, Medina filed a suit and is looking for the judge to halt Kanye's and Dash's project, as well as hit the two for damages. This is an interesting development in their seemingly perfect reunion. Does Loisaidas actually stand a chance with this lawsuit, only time will tell.
