Instagram just announced that they're launching a new music channel that will capture and share moments from the music world from a variety of artists. Simply called @Music, the channel will highlight artists and their day-to-day activities in one place for fans to enjoy and follow along. “For the past four years, we have become the home for artists big and small—a place where people across the musical spectrum come to share stories, reveal their creativity and connect directly with fans,” said Kevin Systron, CEO and founder of Instagram.

The new channel will not only be exclusive to major artists, but also up-and-coming talents from around the world. It also won't be exclusive to just musicians, but will also include moments from music photographers, album illustrators, instrument makers, and more.  As of now, Questlove has already been mentioned as an artist who will be featured on the page in the coming weeks after today's launch.

“We’re looking to break artists,” said Alex Suskind, music editor at Instagram, told Buzzfeed. “One of the things we’re focusing on is emerging and unsigned talent who are using the platform to share their music and their stories in a unique way.”

Just how exactly Instagram, and its owner Facebook, will plan to make money off of the channel is unclear, but it seems like some sort of exclusive content with artists on the page is a real possibility moving forward. Check out the channel on Instagram here.
