It was a talking point in 2014 that the lack of big-name rap records allowed a bunch of new stars like Young Thug to step into the spotlight. But in 2015…they're going to keep grabbing the spotlight, whether an aging generation wants them to or not. Sure, the big names like Nas and Jay Z will still drop records, and due to the click-driven Internet culture, they'll get a plenty of the coverage. But a new generation is ready to stake their claim to hip-hop and isn't interested in paying deference to the old icons.
