Lupe Fiasco is gearing up to drop his highly anticipated album, Tetsuo & Youth, next week and after pretty much non-stop drama on Twitter lately, he has finally decided to "go back into the shadows." "These are my last few days addressing the public directly," he said.
Over a series of tweets, Fiasco shared lyrics to a collab with Big K.R.I.T., “Lost Generation,” some fans recited them, while others seemed to take them out of context and were offended over lines like, "Fuck Martin Luther King, nigga, fuck change." He exhaustively challenged a number of them on the lyrics and meaning of the song, the state of society, and finally ended with formally announcing that he would be quitting Twitter. Less than a week ago, he warned fans that Jan. 19 would be his last day on Twitter.
You can put it right in their face for MONTHS and they won't pay attention until you put it in a tweet with a hashtag.

And they just go on and go on completely unaware what is happening around them until they feelings are hurt and it's the cool thing to do.

It makes you have to wonder how much stuff have you taken out of context yourself and jumped on the bandwagon of reaction...

The exact same words that free minds will get the person who said them killed by the same people he's trying to free.

When you get the chance look at my timeline. It's like looking into Dante's Inferno. The raw pure hatred and negativity. I see it everyday.

I never look away from it. Its the truth of humanity. A truth that I asked to see the minute I decided to stand up for the good in this life

These are my last few days addressing the public directly. Im not tired. I could carry on for years. I just really want to do something else

I never really liked dealing with the public. My recording career thus far put me in a place where i had to for promotion etc

Now that my contract is over and I have other things that I'd rather be doing I get to make the decision to go back to the shadows.

Earlier this year, hacker group Anonymous reportedly forced Fiasco and Atlantic Records, to rush a late January release for his final album on the label. He admitted that he's been on Twitter more than usual promoting the album, because Anon forced an early release date.
