In 2007, back when Lil Wayne was the best rapper alive, 2 Chainz was still Tity Boi. As a protege of Weezy as well as Ludacris, 2 Chainz was destined for greatness, however delayed. Tity and Dolla Boy formed Georgia-based rap group Playaz Circle in 1997, but the group wouldn’t manage to release a debut single until 2007, 10 years later. Featuring Lil Wayne in his post-Jay Z prime, Playaz Circle’s “Duffle Bag Boy” went platinum.

Filmed by Video Music Box, this footage from Hot 97’s Summer Jam 2008 features Weezy and Chainz performing “Duffle Bag Boy” together at Giants Stadium in North Jersey. Note that Chainz is on stage with his Gucci handbag strapped at his shoulder, which seems a rather impractical accessory for a live rap show. Look at him cheesing, though. He’s just happy to be there.
