Over the last few years, Ultra Music has been making strides to introducing acts that might not be seen as typical EDM outfits to the American dance music scene. From Flosstradamus and Heroes and Villains to The Writer's Block and Kygo, the imprint i smaking strides to encompass more of the electronic music scene. This week, Ultra released Berlin-based Marek Hemmann's sophomore album Bittersweet in the States (it originally dropped in August of 2013 in Germany). Hemmann resides in the minimal side of the tech-house realm, but instead of making tunes that are hyper serious, he found a way to bring grooves and fun to his music. The thing is, we imagine many on this side of the Atlantic aren't that familiar with Marek, so we got some facts straight from the horse's mouth about living in Berlin, his love of vinyl, and much more.
