Willow Smith and SZA linked up in the booth earlier this year, and Willow's the first to unleash what their efforts amounted to. "9" is an impressive start to what should be the first of many collaborations between the young songstresses (okay, SZA might be a little older). Despite a decade apart in experience, Willow's topical and vocal maturity continues to impress.

SZA starts the song off over the type of aerated synth-goodness that she's always killed it on. Once Willow takes over at a few ticks past the 1 minute mark, she masterfully flows over the production. In an interview released today, the 14-year-old spoke to the New York Times about how her creative process in the booth begins with gaining a feel for the beat using freestyles, and that's definitely evident here. She continues to tackle advanced subject matter too, singing: "I'm not a kid no more / I've did some things that you can see that I've been gone away / That I have room to roam to be who whom I want to be / And you don't even talk to me."

My goodness, girl.

Stream "9" below, and check out Willow's new EP III on iTunes here.
