The tragic events surrounding the death of Ferguson, Missouri native Michael Brown has been cause for national concern to say the least. The fallout from the recent non-indictment of police officer Darren Wilson—the man who shot Michael Brown—has spurred nearly every possible reaction into action including rioting and new and rehashed conversations about issues of race and masculinity. The dance music community has begun coming together in recent weeks in releasing tribute material. First it was Mayhem, and now Philadelphia's Swizzymack created a tribute track of his own. Though the track is just over three minutes long, the first 44 seconds is a sample of Michael Brown's mother testifying about the character of her son. The sample perfectly sets up the vibe of the track and plays huge respect to the gravity of the situation before it morphs into an absolutely annihilating hybrid trap and club obliterator of a track. It's the type of track that is so heavy and so raw, that if it was played in an area of civil unrest, that area would most definitely turn into place you don't want to be - or maybe you do. Either way, you can download this track and pay your own tributes to Michael Brown by spreading the track and channeling those energies into something positive.
