When not causing a salacious commotion on the Internets, Seth Troxler (through his Tuskegee Music label with the Martinez Brothers) is actually doing more than most any other key minority player in dance music to advance the skills and talents of non-Caucasian artists in the scene. Of course, when not doing either one of those other things, Troxler is still setting forth on a pioneering course as a DJ, too, no genre, sound or interest left behind. Thus, his latest "Rhythm Control" mix shouldn't sound surprising when you're not hearing tech house, as Troxler uses the hour-long mix as a platform to continue to showcase his progression. "Slow jams and indie rock to bring some heat in on those cold cold winter nights" are on tap here, and if there was ever a more out-of-left-field place to find one of the best inclusions of rock in dance of 2014, it's here. Free-to-download, it's not just worth a listen, it's worth keeping in the rotation, too.
