This should be a dope project to cap off a promising fourth quarter of upcoming album releases. Royce Da 5'9" and DJ Premier have teamed up to bring us PRhyme on December 9. It's a bit of an impromptu project from the pair, but one that's certainly promising given the level of commitment each artist put forth to make the album happen.

On a recent Sway in the Morning appearance, Premier explained how PRhyme came together. Originally, he was going to do an entire EP with Slaughterhouse using samples from only one artist—a gimmicky idea that Premo wasn't really in to, but they were going to work at nonetheless. That idea was scrapped due to logistical problems and scheduling conflicts, but Royce stepped up and got in the studio with Premo anyway.

Royce and Premier began recording with the intention of only doing an EP, but like most great rappers and producers, they couldn't just stop at five songs. Nine tracks and a slew of guest verses  from the likes of Schoolboy Q, Mac Miller, Common, Killer Mike, and Jay Electronica later, the pair had PRyhme. Check out "Intro" and "Courtesy," the duo's first two releases from PRhyme below, as well as the aforementioned Sway in the Morning interview.
