Mexico City's NAAFI crew affiliate Siete Catorce may be relatively new to production, but with what could easily be called a deep moombahton/cumbia track in "Syncopate," continues with Enchufada's excellence in delivering the weirdest (yet still quite exciting) collection of tunes to-date in their Upper Cuts series. Defined by Wikipedia as "[involving] a variety of rhythms which are in some way unexpected which make part or all of a tune or piece of music off-beat," "Syncopate" kicks off with dueling percussive styles setting yes, a syncopated tempo. Synth notes fall down the scale as a trigger-sounding sample get involved in the mix, followed by cumbia's familiar sweeping riddim, and a warping tech-house bassline. A tropical house jam grooving to the beat of a plethora of different drummers, this one is certain to meet progressive dance-floor expectations.
