Following the special one-night-only screening of Nas' Time Is Illmatic documentary earlier this month, the film's director, One9, and writer/producer, Erik Parker, have released a in-depth inside look into the making of the film. During the quick behind the scenes clip, which was put together by Hennessy, One9 and Parker talk about the strong hip-hop influence in their individual pasts and how they have been working on putting together this documentary for nearly 10 years.
At first, they were going to focus the film solely around Nas in the studio working on the album, but they soon realized that the cultural impact of the project was much bigger than just the album itself. The documentary is currently being shown before a handful of Nas' upcoming shows on his current Time Is Illmatic tour, but can also be viewed on iTunes and select Video On-Demand services.
