The Danes don’t get a lot of attention when it comes to their dance music. Slowolf though has caught my attention. In addition to a grip of original material like his more-then-worthy Wolf Grey EP, he’s delivered five out-of-leftfield remixes of Rihanna, Rick Ross, Kendrick Lamar, and Future flipping each of these hip-hop joints into their own slice of mind-bending beat craziness. On his latest remix, Slowolf ditches the hip-hop source material and grabs MØ’s “Walk This Way,” recreating it in his own way. Slowolf’s version takes MØ’s insanely pop vocals and slices and dices them over some heavy hip-hop rhythms punctured by thumping 808s and choice vocal sampling. It’s a remix with few additional elements beyond what’s needed. There’s a simplicity to this that just works. Not much to say other then let this bang and check out his previous work, too.
