Jay Electronica's Album Is Probably Never Coming Out So Here's a Clip of Him Playing a Beat Instead

Let's just accept that Jay Electronica's album is never coming out already.

I often argue that music is best enjoyed not as a logical experience but as an emotional one. Mostly because music can make people irrational. For example, I have an irrational love for all things Jay Electronica. I love that he walked into the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival dressed like Capitan Crunch with a gang of dudes from the Fruit of Islam, I love that he's the only rapper to actually infiltrate the Illuminati by breaking up the Rothschild's marriage (though he's reportedly broken up with Kate Rothschild), and I love all of his music but particularly his song "Exhibit C," which I consider the greatest rap song of all time (okay fine, that's a slight troll, it's more accurately described as my favorite rap song ever but still).

As a long suffering Jay Electronica stan I've patiently waited for Detox Act II: Patents of Nobility. And for the most part, I've accepted the fact that the album is never ever coming out. Granted, I might be proven wrong. From all the industry whispers I hear, Jay Elec is seriously going to drop the album this time around. Which would make sense since he's been more active in 2014 than he was the last few years and (as he admitted to Revolt) sober now after backsliding for a bit. But as a hardcore cynic, I refuse to believe the album even exists until I hear it for myself.

That's what makes the clip above so frustrating. It was posted on No I.D.'s Instagram account earlier today and just shows Jay bopping his head to an amazing ass beat I can only assume No I.D. produced. It looks like he's writing rhymes to the beat on his phone or maybe, I don't know, he's just playing Candy Crush or Kim Kardashian: Hollywood. Is this another sign that the album is indeed coming? No, I refuse to believe it until I hear the damn album, and you shouldn't either. And honestly, it doesn't even matter if the album actually comes out or not, I'll still love Jay Electronica. I'm just irrational like that.
