At first listen, there may not be anything strikingly different about Black Party's sound. That's not a diss because his sound is simple and effective. His raspy vocals give weight to lines like, "Since Nas said 'The world is yours,' my minds been focused on 100s." He doesn't just shout his lyrics at you, he makes you feel them.

What does stand out right away about Black Party is that he's the total package—he produces, engineers, and raps. But it's all still pretty amateur—something you can see for yourself in his new video for "Hilaro Springs," a video that plays like a homage to his neighborhood in Little Rock, AR. The video is a warmup to his project Prototype, which drops on Thursday.

"Hilaro Springs" should be your introduction, but from there you can get into his production, most notably heard on Kari Faux's standout project,  Laugh Now, Die Later, including her now semi-breakout hit "No Small Talk." Kid's got talent, plus he quotes Argentinian poet Antonio Porchia on his Soundcloud so you know his head's in the right place.Check out his Soundcloud for more and stay tuned for new music from Black Party.
