Minnesota, Jackal, and G Jones are set to start a tour next month that will criss-cross the country, and hit more than three dozen venues in a six-week run. This is important for several reasons. Obviously the music is the movement, but we're watching artists that have given out freebies and grown their fan bases while keeping it independent, and we're loving this no frills approach to their marketing. Minnesota's Voyager album was a "like to download" release. G Jones gave out a downloadable EP via SATURATE! RECORDS, and followed up with several free downloads that include a collaborative record with Bleep Bloop, and a record called "Move Around" that I've legit had on repeat for the past week. The majority of Jackal's work has been downloadable with no strings attached.
Keeping in line with the spirit of giving, Minnesota is letting loose free tickets for this tour, and all you have to do is enter your zip (so they can find the closest city) and your email address to enter to win. You should know Minnesota is also planning on hosting scavenger hunts for additional tickets, meet-and-greet tickets, free VIP packages, and other fan experience packages given away for free as well.
