Just Jam Is Back On... At The Barbican!

We can hear the shouts of "brap!" and "zoop!" already.

None

On March 1, 2014, the ever-cool Just Jam was scheduled to put on an event at the prestigious Barbican venue in London. However, it was unceremoniously pulled the day before "on the grounds of public safety following with the City of London police." The cancellation didn't go down well at all, with long-time supporters even taking their outrage to the pages of The Guardian. And with a line-up that promised a variety of underground-loved acts, from JME and Big Narstie to Omar Souleyman and RP Boo, who wouldn't be vexed?

The event organisers—famed photographers and Web TV hosts, Tim & Barry—soldiered on and relocated to a Brick Lane venue, putting on the event via livestream and attracting an unbelievable 35,000 viewers at its peak. Injustice was still felt all around though. A media partner of the event, Noisey.com produced a documentary hosted by JME on the police and their relationship with the grime scene, in its aftermath—laying the blame squarely on unfair and prejudiced restrictions from police and London authorities.

Six months after the original event was due to go down, it has now been revealed that Just Jam at The Barbican will finally happen in December! (December 13th, to be precise). Noisey recently spoke with Tim, who revealed his excitement at the new developments: "We now have a chance to put that show on with the added bonus of some time to prepare some new elements. So, yeah, it should be live."

So far, the line includes: JME, Preditah, Big Narstie, Mumdance, Novelist, Traxman and Litebulb, and no doubt more will be added as the months go by. Tickets will be priced between £12.50 and £15. Read more of Tim's interview here, and keep up to date with Just Jam on Twitter for more info.
