Burns must be doing something right. The London-based producer has been doing his thing his way for a while now; whether its catching the eye of Calvin Harris and scoring releases on his Fly Eye imprint (including his recent single, "Flicka"), snagging official remixes for Calvin Harris, Marina and The Diamonds, and Felix Cartal, or just churning out his own multifaceted tracks, he's definitely not fitting into any hole you might attempt to peg him in–which is great. In looking over the Five Tracks he selected, you can see that his taste in music is just as varied as the tracks he produces. Always good to see a producer really doing their own thing and getting recognition for it. Check out what Burns selected for this week's Five Tracks.
Torey Lanez - "Henny In Hand"
Production on this is so nice, pure sex music.
Burns - "Flicka"
This is me therefore I don't need to explain. OUT NOW THOUGH SO GO BUY IT!
Bot - "Monky Man"
Love this record, I actually had an idea of my own that used the same vocal sample but then came across this before it was finished, it hits so hard! Don't get much chance to play it out but I love it all the same.
Spooky Black - "Reason"
Everything about this project interests me, its kinda strange and all of the videos/ pics are so funny/ weird its almost like he's acting so un-cool and pretentious that it becomes the highest level of coolness!?
Wiwek & Gregor Salto - "On Your Mark"
Club track of the year for me, these guys are killing it right now... for me its a perfect main room record, no cringey trance melody in the breakdown just pure intensity and rhythm. The use of the percussion as a lead line is an amazing idea also and works so well.
