It's been interesting seeing the quick turnaround that Hunter Siegel has had. I first heard that The Killabits had split and he was working on his own material back in May, and love seeing that before the summer ended, he'd already signed a huge single to Size, which dropped on September 22. It's huge not just because "New School Renegade" is take it back to the rave, complete with amens in effect; he actually linked with Todd Terry for "Time To Blackout," which actually makes me remember Todd Terry's huge drum & bass single "Blackout." There's something about hunter abandoning the 140BPM dubstep sound for the house shores; he's murder when he gets in that zone, which is evidenced by the exclusive mix he sorted out for DAD. While the only Hunter Siegel material in this set is the Size single and a ScHoolboy Q bootleg, he throws together a strong 46-minute trek that features material from Tchami, Canblaster, My Nu Leng, the Bixel Boys, Don Diablo, and many others. Great mid-week flex for you androids out there, and a dope look into not only what's influencing Hunter, but what you should expect from him in the near future.
