Remember when you heard New Order for the first time and wished desperately that Bernard Sumner could actually sing? Well, wish no more, because in their new "Looking Back" single, Andras & Oscar have accidentally realised a music vision that is essentially an updated New Order. There's elements of new wave and electro; cold primitive sounding synths form the core of the track, evoking those late '70s experimentations in electronica, however crudely.

Then, without really changing all that much, it somehow becomes warmer and warmer as the synths thaw until, though no fault of your own, you realise you've been singing along the whole time. Strangely, for something so initially cold, Andras & Oscar's "Looking Back" would make perfect campfire music. So years from now we could find ourselves reminiscing about those long-gone days when you'd gather round a campfire in the woods, with nothing but a Korg synth and a Kaoss pad. Watch the bizarrly cool video below.
