Is there anything that Los Angeles-based bass maestro Flying Lotus isn't doing this fall?
Initially, news hit the Internet about his forthcoming Warp Records artist album You're Dead on October 7, which included a star-studded list of collaborators including Snoop Dogg, Herbie Hancock, and Kendrick Lamar.
We've now been awed by FlyLo's jazzy bass anthem work with Kendrick Lamar on "Never Catch Me" and the Gilles Peterson-debuted "Moment of Hesitation" featuring Herbie Hancock. If thinking that it ended there, the feel good surprises just keep coming with the debut of album single "Coronus, The Terminator." An augmented kick drum anchors the woozy Lotus vocal-featuring space blues of this deep, soulful journey. Also released today, is news that the producer is holding a "TUMBLR IRL" event in Los Angeles on Tuesday, September 23 featuring music from the new album and visuals by collaborators Shintaro Kago, Strangeloop and Timeboy. Over the span of four hours fans will "be able to fully immerse themselves in the audio and visual world of the record" at the event conceptualized by the artist himself.
