Jasmine V may only be 20 years old, but she's been in the game for a minute. When she dropped by the Complex offices a few weeks ago, Jasmine V (the V stands for Villegas) told stories about being spotlight since her mom signed her up for pageants when she was only 11 years old. Her pageant days eventually led to being discovered and signing with Dame Dash, who nurtured her early career days, as well as touring with Justin Bieber when she was 16.

Now at Interscope, Jasmine's prepping to move onto a bigger stage, starting with her newest single "That's Me Right There," which features a guest verse from Kendrick Lamar. She spoke about how that collaboration came to be, and even shared a story of her family and friends surprising her by playing her the Kendrick verse before Jasmine even knew he wrote it.
