Earlier this week, Insomniac announced that they're going to be throwing a one-night-only Halloween massive on October 31, 2014, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, Boo. While they've not announced any act as of yet, it'll be interesting to see what they have lined up for this party, considering the size of the Barclays and a dope Halloween theme. As LessThan3 pointed out, the timing of this move is interesting considering that when SFX Entertainment aligned with Clear Channel, one of the pieces of their EDM puzzle was a Halloween-themed event similar to the "Jingle Ball" concerts that radio stations hold over the country. SFX's latest quarterly report shows that they're planning for two new EDM EMC-themed Halloweend events for 2015, though, so Insomniac looks to be getting a proper jump on the EDM Halloween festivities... sort of.

Insomniac's Escape party has been running as a Halloween-themed event in California for the last four years, but a New York-based promoter had a history in the NYC area of throwing a number of massive raves, including the massive BOO parties, which ran from 1996 through 2004. Being from NJ, I'd spent time hitting venues in New York and vividly remember the BOO parties being packed with some of the finest talent at that time (especially the talent they brought in for junglists)—just check out this collection of past flyers. I'd noticed Facebook comments about Stuck On Earth actually planning on bringing BOO back for a 10-year reunion this year, and while there's skepticism regarding this flyer that was posted on a Stuck On Earth Facebook page (especially considering that the venue listed on the flyer, Studio B, has been closed since 2009). Furthermore, it looks like Stuck On Earth has been operating as Epic Entertainment, which not only threw a Stuck On Earth reunion show in February of 2014, but has thrown a number of themed parties in the NYC area over the last few years (including helping in marketing and distribution for this year's Mysteryland USA).

Now none of this says that there won't be a BOO 10-year reunion, but as of right now (i.e. the end of August), there seems to be very little information on such a party that could possibly going down on October 12, although Epic has been teasing a Halloween-themed party at Amazura, Thriller, set for October 31, 2014—the same day as Insomniac's Boo. Lineups for neither event have been announced as of yet, but we'll keep you posted.
