Trap's had a really weird shelf life in the EDM scene. It sprung into action in 2012, then seemed to sputter into too many weak directions. Maybe it was the influx of producers trying to go hard in the paint, but I think the scene needed 2013 to separate the fireworks from the sparklers. One such producer that's really come into his own is Debroka, an Atlanta-based trap flexer that doesn't seem to make bad material. His tracks aren't just turnt on the usual "trap trap turn up" level; dude's bringing forth the fury when he crafts his material. These things hit you in all of the right places, and don't hesitate when it comes to hurting the shit out of you. His festival trap rework of "Jawdropper" is proof positive that this particular sound is viable, and when allowed to dwell in the right hands, its all impact.
